Sonia Isabelle is an artist from Les Cèdres, Quebec, who specializes in realistic graphite pencil drawings. Her work stands out for its attention to detail, texture, and the emotions that emerge from each scene she depicts.

Artist's Biography & Inspiration

A resident of Les Cèdres, Quebec, Sonia Isabelle holds a diploma in Visual Arts from Cégep de Valleyfield and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with majors in graphic design and illustration from Concordia University, as well as a specialization in cultural mediation.

An award-winning artist, her work is featured in regional, national, and international exhibitions.

Her work can be found in various public, corporate and private collections.

My work explores the presence, fragility, and complexity of the human condition through graphite pencil drawings. Inspired by scenes from everyday life, my works reveal the emotion and narrative inherent in each subject. I portray people authentically, beyond conventional standards of beauty, highlighting their life experiences, their vulnerability, and their connections. Through the precision of my lines, I invite the viewer to slow down and recognize what deeply unites us.

Environmental Responsibility: A Perspective on Sustainable Development

Sonia Isabelle contributes financially to the establishment of boreal forest plantations, a research infrastructure of the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.
This gesture aims to offset his consumption of paper, essential to the expression of his art.

On a day-to-day basis, the artist manages her studio in an eco-responsible way. Among other things, she uses every scrap of paper to produce smaller-format works, for school projects or cultural mediation.
