These hands are those of my mother. She was the one who made me aware of the role of women in the family and in society. It was she who made me understand the importance of having my own identity, of taking my place in the world, of fulfilling myself by contributing to something greater than myself.

These hands, I've seen them busy, touching people to show compassion. His left ring finger wears the wedding ring my father gave him over sixty years ago. Even though the lack of energy is felt throughout the rest of his body, these hands are still active. So, resting these hands is not for tomorrow.

What a stunning work you’ve created here! It brought tears to my eyes. I love knowing now that these are your mother’s hands. Might I inquire, do you sell prints of this work? I was so very much moved by it, and would like to hang it above my work desk as I am adapting a book into a stage play of the Lioness in Winter: Writing an Old Woman’s Life.

I’m happy to share the emotion associated with this work with you. Unfortunately, this drawing is sold, but limited prints will be available by the end of the year. With your permission, I’ll contact you when I have them.
